New Orleans

New Orleans was fabulous. Alex's cousins were the best tour guides we could ask for. They took us all around the French Quarter and the Garden District filling us in on the history, the culture, and traditions of the town. Below are a few snapshots from the day.
So much Crawfish!

Fascinated by the old buildings, rust, and paint chips.

The iron work was amazing in detail. So very French in designs.

Love the accent of color of these doors. If you look in there is a little garden courtyard inside.

Famous street in the French Quarter - Bourbon Street.

Hear some great street musicians playing wonderful upbeat music throughout the day and evening.

Love the balconies on almost every building.
We went into two shops that created oil lamps like these for the district. They are beautiful.
Love the old shutters that are still in use.

I think my favorite balcony in the Quarter. It was on the curve of the building corner and the teal shutters made it so quaint.
Had my first beingnas here at the most famous cafe in the French Quarter.
Reflection of the intricate ironwork in the windows.

Huck Finn's! Thanks Mark Twain.

One of the cutest houses in the Garden District.

One of the cemeteries in the city. Notice that the tombs are above ground.
