Galveston Island, TX to Baton Rouge, LA

This morning we explored the island of Galveston. Ventured over to Pelican Island to the Seawolf Park for a short walk around. There were many people fishing and we got to observe the birds and even saw some dolphins in the water. Then traveled to the Big Reef Nature Park for a walk along the beach. We then decided to save about 50-miles of driving by taking the Ferry to the Bolivar Peninsula. Highly suggest a different mode of transportation for about a 20 minute ride. Had a wonderful drive by the water and finally exited out of Texas into Louisiana! I have to say that I prefer the green landscape and trees of Louisiana. They are just breath taking. Looking forward to exploring a bit of Baton Rouge tomorrow before we drive into New Orleans to spend some time with Alex's family who live in the area.

Just love seeing the pelicans fly by.

Part of the ferry. Just love to take abstract photos.

It's green and beautiful!

Saw this sign and just had to capture it.
