Grand Canyon

Today we spent the whole day in the beautiful Grand Canyon till sunset. I kept on feeling that it was a big back drop that we were looking at since it is such an iconic landscape of our country. Though on our 6.3 mile walk to Hermit's Rest on the southern rim it became very obvious that this amazing landscape is very real and wonderful. There were times while we walked and just listened to mother nature. No cars, no airplanes and very few people. Loved looking at the various patterns on the sides of the canyons as well as the variation of color in the rocks. It was a great day to get some fresh air and a long walk.

I am amazed at the various colors of rocks: tans, to grays, to reds.

This shape reminded me of a snake's head.

Enjoyed looking at the shadows.

Cute little squirrel being spoiled and looking for food with the canyon in the background.
