Orchid Photo Shoot

For the past couple of years I have discovered that I love taking photographs of white orchids. There is something about their petal shape and the different "shades of white" that I just can not stop taking compositions of. This week I was gifted an orchid by a client and had a great little photo shoot. About 5 minutes and over 50 shots later I downloaded them into my computer and converted some into black and white compositions. Here are a couple for you to enjoy.

Watercolor In Process

The new year has come and 2011 is off to a full start. One of my goals this upcoming year as an artists it to continue to develop my figurative series of Persona. Persona is a personal reflection that focuses on the harmony of the body and the soul: the physical versus the spiritual, represented sometimes as one, sometimes as individuals. I try to blend the idealism of the human form in combination and contrast with the variety of people – people seen through the lens of reality varying in shape, size, and form.

Usually my Persona series is in a Digital Art format but over the past year or so I have been experimenting with creating 100% watercolor compositions. Below is a start to my newest composition. It still has a long way to go but I am pleased thus far.

My apologies for some reason the paper photographed tan instead of white.
